Terrible two's blues

The dreaded terrible twos has begun for my youngest Xander.. We now have daily tantrums, throwing things, screaming, and he knows when he is doing something he shouldn't, he'll do a cheeky little smile and do it anyway. He still manages to fit in loads of cuddles, kisses (even though he rubs them off), and the cutest dances in between, so, I guess that balances it out. Everyday is full of a roller-coaster of emotions but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Mummy on a budget

Anyone who knows me knows that I am very cautious with what I buy. I love a bargain and seem to manage my money pretty well. I’ve listed a few pointers on how I save money but making sure the kids have smiles on their faces!

Teething troubles

Source My little one is teething pretty bad right now. He has four teeth and no sign of any more coming through apart from the crying, and not sleeping. He also has been shaking his head a lot, he done this before his last tooth came through. I'm hoping all this trouble these teeth are causing him means maybe a few are coming through at once.

Top 10 Garden toys

My little one and my nephew love to play in the garden and it has been perfect garden weather recently! I've been looking on Amazon for garden toy ideas and have listed my top 10. We already have a giant connect 4 which Ryker loves and we have a skittles set (paw patrol obviously). All images are linked to Amazon if you want to buy any of the toys. I've recently applied to join Amazon affiliate so if you are interested in any of the toys it would be amazing if you can use one of my links to buy them. Thanks and enjoy.

Review: Supermarket own brand nappies

I've always used supermarket own brand nappies, a lot of them work just as well as the more expensive ones just with a better price. I've managed to try Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsburys, and Aldi's nappies. I think the only ones I haven't tried are Co Op, Waitrose, and Lidl. I have also tried Boots, and Superdrug (although not supermarkets I have included them in my review). Here's how I got on...

My little Chicken pop

L Xander has got chicken pox! He had one on his neck last Tuesday and I wasn't too sure what it was and then Wednesday morning when we woke up we noticed lots more. It was only a matter of time as both my niece and nephew have had them in the past month. I'm happy that he has had them nice and early so I don't have to worry about him catching them when he gets older. He didn't react too well to them, he was going crazy itching his head and body. He had one on his eye waterline which really irritated him. I rubbed some  Calamine cream on him that helped A LOT. My sister recommended  it as she used it on her baby girl and it does really help with the itching. Almost instantly after using it my little one stopped crying and seemed more relaxed. I know the tittle says chicken pop, its a little nickname for Xander whilst he has chicken pox to make light of the situation.  On the bright side they have almost healed over now and after seeing how bad my niece had them Xande...

My view on: Forcing children to eat.

I was watching 'This Morning' the other day and they were discussing whether or not you should force a child to eat their food if they are saying they don't like it or don't want it. Two woman with different opinions were on the show. If you force feed them it can cause more problems but if you don't force feed then you're making it harder on yourself. Here's my opinion...

Breastfeeding

Source Breastfeeding is such a lovely way to bond with your baby. I've breastfed both my boys. I would definitely recommend it although it isn't easy and doesn't work for everyone it's worth a try. I've put together a few facts on breastfeeding that I've learned, and some of my own stories of the good and bad and how I overcame the challenges.

Tongue tie trouble

Source My little boy was tongue tied for 3 weeks without anyone noticing! It wasn’t until he was 4 weeks old until I was able to get it sorted. It took approximately a further week for him to get used to it being untied. That first month was pretty hard but we got through it. Here's a little debrief of the month, what tongue tie actually is, and ways of spotting it..

Potty training: first two weeks

Ryker will be starting nursery in September so I think it's about time he learnt to go to the toilet on his own. He has also been showing signs by letting me know when his nappy is full, holding himself before he has his wee, and even bringing me a nappy and wipes. I've read lots of stories about how stressful potty training can be and I'm not the best at coping with stress so I knew this wasn't going to be easy for either of us. Here's a little summary of how the first two weeks went...

Dealing with tantrums

Ryker is at the age where he gets bored easily and wants to touch and do everything, basically he is having a lot of tantrums! When he first started having tantrums I was too embarrassed to go out on my own with him or i'll only go out for short amount of times. I remember his first tantrum in Asda, he was on the floor kicking his legs and screaming, EVERYONE was looking. I literally had no clue what to do. I tried everything and he just wouldn't stop, I got really flustered and just ended up putting my shopping back and leaving the store. It was awful!

Our little boy

The title is our little boy but he isn't so little anymore, he is growing way too quickly! He influenced me to write this blog but I haven't even wrote a blog post about him! So I decided to tell you guys a little bit about him, enjoy (:

March summary

This year is flying by, how are we in the 4th month already?! Ryker has changed so much in this month alone. Here's a little recap of our month.

Labour: Pool birth

Before I gave birth I watched one born every minute, YouTube videos, and read a lot of articles on labour. I don't know why I done it because it made me even more nervous! I had no idea what to expect, everyone's labour is different! Reading all those labour stories  inspired me to write my own. Enjoy.

True meaning of valentines day

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!! People spend so much money on cards, presents, and dinner but that's not what valentines is about? It's not about how much is spent on the gift, its the thought that was put into it. Its showing the people you love, just how much they mean to you and if you're spending valentines on your own then it gives you the perfect excuse to treat yourself. Here's 5 ways to show your loved ones just how much they mean to you:

Miscarriage

The first time I found out I was pregnant I had taken a test before I went to work and not noticed that it had a faint line. My mum phoned me whilst I was on the bus and told me the test had two lines. I automatically burst into tears and got very strange looks from other passengers...
